Hooters Hotel and Casino

The Motorhead show at the Las Vegas Hooters Hotel and Casino took place on May 11 and 12. We stopped by on Saturday to bring you some eye candy from the show - visiting AirbrushTour is kinda like being there, only without the sunburn!

The event provided for a lot of great cars, like this ‘33 Ford Tudor Sedan on display in the Arlen Ness of Las Vegas display.

It’s the baby of Dee and Carolyn Barnes from Fremont, CA. Paint was beautifully applied by Greg Barker.

Flames by Art Himal. Nice!

Arlen Ness - Ironhorse Slammer

Also on display at the Ness booth, an ultra-hot 2007 American Ironhorse Slammer.

These bikes feature great factory paint.

Elsewhere at the show, check out this ‘46 Ford steel body 2 door sedan. A garage project with lots of niceties…

…including this hand painted mascott on the rear deck.

Bob Crellin's Vega

Bob Crellin’s airbrushed and race-ready Chevy Vega was on display… and shined bright with the help of local model Lillann Foster.

The back panels feaure airbrushed murals, usually viewed by those being passed on neck-breaking speeds.

Hot Cole Boat

The Hot Cole boat features some fast graphics.

KOMP 92.3 FM Truck

Local radio station KOMP 92.3 FM had their custom airbrushed promotional truck there. This cool paint job executed by Paint Master Art and is a real attention getter.

Hot flames and burning skulls adorn the entire front of the Chevy Avalanche.

George Barris' General Lee

The General Lee, a George Barris creation, was on display impressing young and old kids alike. We seem to catch a lot of Barris creations in our travels and they are always popular with the crowds.

Las Vegas Trikes

Pretty model Heather Brady sits atop a powerful V-8 trike, built by locals at Las Vegas Trikes.

Some of the coolest trikes we’ve seen are right here in Las Vegas at Las Vegas Trikes.

Sanitarium Cycles

From trikes to bikes, Sanitarium Cycles builds a clean bike.

Sleek and fast - these guys pay attention to details all the way down to custom primary belt.

All-in-all, it was a fun show. Check out the Hooters Hotel and Casino for more upcoming events.

Festival of the Arts at the District, Henderson, NV

Sunday, May 13th, 2007

We took a break last Saturday (5/5/07) to get inspired and visit with some local art talent showing at The District Festival of the Arts in Henderson, NV.

Our friend Caroline was displaying her clever and beautiful cork creations there. These are really fun and interesting home accessories and you have to see them to really appreciate the playfulness and creativity that goes into them. She takes genuine wine corks and labels and turns them into mirrors, frames, vases and other decor items. Donations of genuine corks and labels are always welcome and appreciated. Visit Caroline’s website - UncorkedDesigns.com

We met some new friends while there. Jeanne and Dana Rosen are the creators of these colorful and whimsical wall plaques. They employ some unique materials and processes - cold bronze (coated cast-stone) or faux marble (stone with crushed marble aggregates) cast in molds then colored and hand-polished. Learn more about this couple and their art at Paper and Stone.

What’s an art festival without music? Rick Arroyo and his Latin Jazz band entertained us while we perused the art. We enjoyed it so much we bought a copy of his newest CD: “On Fire in the Desert”. Visit Rick Arroyo’s website here.

Performing arts were represented at the Art Festival as well. The Soul Acrobats group were there promoting their DVD’s, CD’s, photography, books, and seminars. Fascinating and entertaining to watch, the Soul Acrobats mesmerized us as the Latin Jazz played in the background.

Soul Acrobats is a team of professional acrobats and artists comprised of national-level gymnasts, world-traveled circus artists, and champion martial artists from all over the globe. Visit their website to learn more about them.

Don Thompson aka The Crystal Wizard delighted the younger crowd with a demonstration of his beautiful glassblowing. He’s available for lessons, private parties or special events. If you’re in the area of Boulder City, Nevada and would like to book him for your event you can reach him at (702) 293-3040.

The fall version of this festival takes place October 20-21. Go to The District At Green Valley Ranch to learn about the Fall Harvest Fest and Craft Festival.
