Last year, American Motorcycle Company revealed their Apache Bagger. They sent us some photos of this masterpiece taken at Daytona Bike Week. If you’re into style and comfort for the highway, this is the bike for you.
The airbrush work was done by Gary Crisp Hot Rods and Custom Paint of Phoenix, Arizona. NICE!
The Oh My Godard Gallery in South Lake Tahoe played host to A.D. Cook and his Metal Fusion™ art last weekend. KRLT Radio - The Lake - did a live broadcast from outside the gallery and conducted a couple of interviews with A.D. about his work.
Happy collectors, Liz and Bill Gresham pose with A.D. in front of their new collection of A.D. Cook original abstract Artist Fusions™.
Former drummer and bassist of the rock band Sublime, Bud Gaugh captured here with A.D. and his two hot rods, one three-dimensional and one two-dimensional - a genuine Metal Fusion™, which he picked up here at the Oh My Godard Gallery in South Lake Tahoe. Locals of Lake Tahoe should keep an eye out for Bud’s new band Gyeetard to reveal itself sometime in the near future.

Between gallery shows, A.D. visited a couple of local tourist destinations. One notable stop is the Heavenly Gondola.
Each car carries eight passengers from downtown Lake Tahoe up the ski slope where you can take in some breath-taking views of the lake and surrounding mountains.
A great view from a rest stop about 3/4 of the way to the top.
The lake view is incredible from here.
Back in town… behind the buildings is smoke from the fire a few miles away…
…and a departing shot of the fire from the back side of the mountain heading towards Carson City.
As of this writing, over 1000 people have fled the area because of the fire. Our hearts and prayers go out on behalf of the victims of this devastating event.
Our buddy Dennis Mathewson of Cosmic Airbrush has another passion besides airbrush. He’s also a Master Tiki Carver. So, he paints images of tikis, he carves tikis and he paints on the tikis he carves. Check it out…
It takes a lot of pounding to create a Tiki this large. These are carved from solid wood, which explains how Dennis stays in such great shape.
These things are massively impressive. In addition to carving, many tikis are hand-painted to completion…
…while some look cool sans pigment.
…and speaking of Tikis, this is what we know Dennis best for - his great airbrush work on custom iron - featuring, of course, his famous Tikis.

This year Dennis will be at the Las Vegas Convention Center attending the AWFS for all four days carving and painting.
The AWFS 2007 is being held July 18 - 21 2007. This promises to be a really fun event - ever seen two belt sanders drag race each other? Well you can find it there. Anest-Iwata will be there, and that’s where you can find Dennis too - Booth #405. This event is open to the public.
Artist A.D. Cook being devoured by his most recent model - Heather Carolin at a recent photo shoot. Nice work if you can get it.
Heather is Playboy’s Miss April 2002, and she will be making an appearance at A.D.’s upcoming show on July 7th at the “Oh My Godard Gallery” in Planet Hollywood (formerly the Aladdin Hotel and Casino) here in Las Vegas. Heather will be signing autographs.
So I’m on the phone with a buddy of mine, the legendary Bob Spina who got his start a [long] while back apprenticing under Big Daddy Roth, and we’re chatting about our current projects. And it turns out that his is nothing less than the new Hummer Limo for The Little White Chapel here in Las Vegas, which is appropriate since Bob is known as ‘Vegas’.
I had to stop by his shop and take a look at this ‘not-so-little’ masterpiece only hours from its completion. It turns out that Bob did the work on the chapel scenes, flowers and striping and he called Fonzy in for the airbrush work on the figures. Lettering was done by Ross Hurdle.
Bob Spina, artist at large, wrapping up one huge project.
Fonzy used Bob’s likeness on the driver’s side panel mural - and that’s Bob’s Harley-Davidson Dyna Lowrider too. And the lady friend… looks a little young to us - lol.
Want to know a secret? If you turn out the lights, the rings on this couple’s fingers glow in the dark. That’s right - glow in the dark art on a Las Vegas Hummer Limo. Not only the rings but the lights on the chapel and many of the highlights on every mural. Bob’s secret weapon is Alsa’s Super Glow product. Nice effect, Bob! A truly mammoth project executed with expert style and finesse. Just what you’d expect from a master.
The upside of Vegas weddings… they’re fast…
…so hold on. (great job Fonzy with the airbrushed murals)
We can’t wait to see this beast unwrapped and roaming the streets of Las Vegas.
The view from the back, sans tin cans and rice.
One last view of the driver’s side mural painted by Fonzy.
Kudos Bob on this great project — Painted to the Max entirely with Alsa paints and additives on this beast. Lookin’ to dress up your limo? Contact Bob at Paint to the Max (702) 239-2823
Looking to get hitched in Vegas and want to roam the town in The Little White Chapel’s new cool limo?… then call them at (702) 387-5743. As a side note, Kathy and I got married there a while back (1983)… but their limo was a tad smaller and plain white then. Airbrush… changing the face of matrimony everywhere.
A.D. Cook and his Metal Fusion™ art will make an appearance at the Oh My Godard Gallery in Lake Tahoe, CA this weekend, Saturday the 23rd, and Sunday the 24th. If you’re in the area you might just want to stop by and say “hello”. The address is 1001 Heavenly Village Way Suite 7, South Lake Tahoe, CA. You can catch him between 2pm and 5pm at the gallery on both days.
To promote the show, A.D. will be interviewed by Howie on the morning radio show at the KRLT studio — 93.9 The Lake FM.
The latest copy of ANEST Iwata’s “Innovation” has been released. You’ll want to download this issue to get the goods on LV technology, waterborne conversion solutions, spray gun disassembly and assembly, “Ryno’s” Trick my Truck and the 2007 East Coast Air Affair.
Back in April we teased you with Donn Shanteau’s new, bright and shiny ’stock’ Harley-Davidson Street Glide. Our thought at the time was that we would bring you a step-by-step. But in this fast-paced world of immediate gratification, things sometimes happen really fast. In fact - Pam painted this beauty in only six days!
So in the spirit of that, we thought we would bring you pics of the finished Dragon bike which Donn and Pam debuted last week at Ohio Bike Week where it won “1st Place” in the touring bike class. Congrats to you Pam (and Donn too)!
As a side note, Pam’s new book “Custom Automotive & Motorcycle Airbrushing 101″ is about to hit the book store shelves at any minute now. If you have the urge to take on a project like this Dragon bike, you’ll learn everything you need to know on how to do that in her book. We’ll let you know when it’s available for purchase (the word on the street is soon).
Thanks to all who visited A.D. Cook at his impromptu show at the Village Gallery in Laguna last evening, for First Thursday’s Art Walk. It was a great evening of showing new art and catching up with fellow artists, including noted artist Wyland, who stopped by for a friendly ‘hello’. We were negligent in getting pics of the evening’s show, but we hope to make up for it at our next Laguna visit.
Laguna, California is a beautiful town and rich in art with dozens of great galleries to visit. Join member galleries throughout Laguna Beach on the First Thursday of EVERY month from 6 - 9 p.m. for a festive cultural evening. Learn more about Laguna’s First Thursday’s Art Walk here or call (949) 683-6871.
