Harvest Art Show 07 Announcement

Harvest '07

Welcome to Harvest 07! Harvest is the brainchild of digital artist Bill Reichardt (a.k.a. tsubasa) and Pinup/Fetish photographer Timothy Dolph. In conjunction with the Erotic Signature, Harvest’s mission is to procure the best in erotic expression in a presentation that will prove to be the Southeastern United States’ preeminent erotic art show. This one night event will showcase the erotic works of internationally renowned artists in addition to multi-media presentations, fashion shows and live performance. The Harvest approach has its roots in a self-imposed demand for quality and an artist’s embedded love of his or her craft. Along with a pan-sexual open-mindedness that feeds social responsibility, the Harvest presentation will not only expose artists to an audience that they might previously not have had, but expose an audience to experiences they might never have the opportunity to encounter.

Harvest is not a Fetish show. It’s not a Pin-Up or Erotic Photography show. Harvest is not a Sexy Painting show. It’s not Burlesque and and it’s not Bondage. What is it then? It’s an amalgamation of all of these and more! Harvest will present 50 of the world’s best artists in all genres of the erotic arts in addition to performance and erotic fashion design. The ever-growing list of artists, performers and designers that will fill the Harvest 07 night with sensuality, grace and eroticism can be found on their website: www.harvestartshow.com. In addition to Harvest’s visual and cerebral offerings, proceeds from The Erotic Signature book and a portion of Harvest07 sales will be donated to the Elton John Aids Foundation in the interest of bettering human sexuality and health.

MySpace Featured Artist - Cristobal

Wednesday, September 26th, 2007

Cristobal

A couple posts back, we mentioned that we were starting a new segment on AirbrushTour to showcase the talented artists on MySpace. And while we’ve certainly featured several artists who have MySpace pages in the past, we’re proud to introduce the first official post to present to you a new artist (at least to AirbrushTour).

The first of the MySpace Featured Artists is Christopher Smith aka Crisobal. Christopher Smith began airbrushing with Space City Airbrush in 2000 on the Kemah Boardwalk. As a Houston, TX artist he has been airbrushing for about 7 years solid and is shows. This self taught through learned his skills by investing countless hours in the garage/studio to master his craft. Until recently, most all of Chris’ referrals have been through word of mouth, but he’s recently put a portion of his work on his web site and on MySpace. Now, he says… “the hits on the site and biz have increased”. Chris has been using Iwata airbrushes since he started. He says he’s tried other airbrushes but wasn’t impressed. He finds portraits to be the most challenging - each one offers something unique and different, be it the eyes, the skin tone, or both.

Below are a few examples of the art of Cristobal… we hope you enjoy them as much as we do.

Cristobal

Part of a school mural - a work in process. Chris specializes in airbrushed murals in museums, offices, schools, and private residences.

Space City Airbrush specializes in airbrushed murals, airbrushed sheetmetal (such as motorcycle tanks and fenders), airbrushed portraits, airbrushed helmets, airbrushed guitars, airbrushed t-shirts, and live airbrushing entertainment.

Want to know more… check him out online at SpaceCityAirbrush.com or visit his MySpace page at MySpace.com/cristobal121171.

Never Too Young…

Tuesday, September 25th, 2007

Never too young

Our buddy Norm Greg sent us this fun pic of his grandson, Micheal, who at 14 months proves you are never too young to start a career in art. A regular at Norm’s studio, this future airbrush master stands on a box to reach the tough spots as he paints with passion. Kudos to Michael, our youngest post ever. Keep it up and one day we’ll be attending your workshops.

MySpace - A Place for Artists

Monday, September 24th, 2007

Since joining the MySpace craze back in August, we’ve been fortunate to discover a plethora of amazing creative talent, including several old friends we were happy to find there, along with several new friends (and many of those are airbrush related). In fact, there is so much amazing art and artists that we at AirbrushTour feel it worthwhile to share them with you. So, we’ve decided to do a regular feature here on the artists - airbrush and otherwise - bringing them to you as we discover them.

Soon, we’ll bring you the first of many. Then another, and another, and so on until you’ve been exposed to so much great art your eyes will explode. Sounds like fun, eh? And we encourage you to visit these artist and check out their great art. Contrary to popular belief, you don’t need a MySpace account to view their pages. So, as we bring you talent, just click their link to learn more about them - tell them you found them here, on AirbrushTour. And at anytime, you can check our growing list by clicking the ‘MySpace Featured Artist‘ link in the CATEGORIES Section in the center column of any AirbrushTour page.

Some artists previously featured on AirbrushTour with MySpace Pages (profiles set to ‘private’ not listed):
A.D. Cook | Bones | Fonzy | Craig Fraser | Jason Doll | Javier | Lil Newt | Marshall Parks | Norm Gregg | Kat | Ryno | Shawn Wilkin | Thom Madro | Vandemon | Wyland

This is just a start, and it’s possible we missed a few. There are definitely tons of great MySpace artists not yet featured on AirbrushTour, but we’re working on it. Over time, we’ll add more. And as we do, we’ll share their MySpace page with you.

• • • • •

Are you a MySpace artist and want to be showcased on AirbrushTour? If so, contact A.D. Cook on his MySpace page >>> MySpace.com/ADCookFineArt.

Super Run Car Show

Friday afternoon made for a great day of hangin’ with the car guys at the Super Run Car Show. The Water Street District in Henderson, Nevada’s downtown streets play host to hundreds of cars, trucks and motorcycles this September 20th to 23rd. We were there, and the word on the street is that there are over 1,000 hot rides on display. We’d have to agree. Either way - hundreds or thousands - this outdoor rod show is impressive. This automotive event is open to all years, makes & models of classic vehicles: cars, trucks, motorcycles and special interest vehicles including vintage, classics, street, hot rods, muscle cars, street rods, competition vehicles and customs. Super Run 2007 will be held in downtown Henderson with cruise lanes on Water Street, just down the road from Las Vegas.

So, with that were bringing you some pics - lots of pics - of this cool hot rod event. Normally, we’d split this post up and bring it to you in two or even three posts, but this event is live - it’s happening now! We want to encourage you to check it out, so we’re loading this post up with tons of pics - perhaps the most ever in a single AirbrushTour post… our gift to you. Enjoy.

Ultimate Air Affair - Part 4

Wednesday, September 19th, 2007

above: Gabe McCubbin (Artool), Pam Shanteau and Gary Glass (Iwata-Medea).

Day 4 featured the inaugural Ultimate Air Affair Car and Motorcycle Show. The classes ended on day 3, which enabled the instructors to finish the projects they started earlier in the program or had yet to start. A 2008 van was donated by Chrysler for the Ultimate Air Affair and had a film strip graphic design painted on its’ sides and tailgate compliments of Dean Loucks and Kindig (ASET’s painter). The filmstrip had numerous individual cells that were airbrushed with classic movie scenes by the instructors. Many of the instructors had to wait for day 4 to paint the cells on the van. While the artists airbrushed inside, there was a world class car and cycle show going on outside. ASET had the road closed to traffic and filled the boulevard and adjacent parking lots with custom vehicles. Many of the students from the 3 day workshop, stayed for day 4. The van was moved into the “VooDoo Swing Lounge” so the artists could work their magic while the attendees watched and asked questions. The day ended with all of the instructors having airbrushed their classic images onto the van which would eventually end up being displayed in Chrysler corporations’ 2007 SEMA show booth at Las Vegas.

All in all it was a great show and a win-win situation for both the artists and the students. The positive energy flowed in both directions with both sides benefiting from the good karma of the other. The good folks at ASET really know how to put on a first class event that reflects the quality of the people involved in the preparation and implementation of the 2007 Ultimate Air Affair.
