Saturday October 6, 2007 — While we couldn’t make it to Harvest 07, the recent erotic art show in Atlanta, GA, we are fortunate that our AirbrushTour contributor Gina King was there displaying her incredible art, and ready to share her experience with you. From what we can see, Harvest, in conjunction with the Erotic Signature puts on one great show!
Harvest’s mission is to procure the best in erotic expression in a presentation that will prove to be the Southeastern United States’ preeminent erotic art show. This one night event will showcase the erotic works of internationally renowned artists in addition to multi-media presentations, fashion shows and live performance. The Harvest approach has its roots in a self-imposed demand for quality and an artist’s embedded love of his or her craft. Along with a pan-sexual open-mindedness that feeds social responsibility, the Harvest presentation will not only expose artists to an audience that they might previously not have had, but expose an audience to experiences they might never have the opportunity to encounter. Having said that… we give you this; Gina’s take on Harvest.

The District Festival of the Arts… our second time around. We first brought you the The District Festival of the Arts in an AirbrushTour post on May 13, 2007. This weekend we joined premiere painters, sculptors, glass blowers and artists again for this unique outdoor art show held at The District in henderson, NV, just minutes away from Las Vegas.
This event was full of lookers and buyers. Crowds of art lovers where everywhere. And for good reason, the quality of art is excellent. We stopped in to catch up with a few of the artists on hand and get a first-hand taste of this season’s event.
We ran into Jeanne and Dana Rosen from Quartz Hill, CA, who we featured back in our May post. Jeanne was out-and-about so we paused for a quick pic with Dana (above). This artisan couple are the creators of colorful and whimsical wall plaques. They employ some unique materials and processes - cold bronze (coated cast-stone) or faux marble (stone with crushed marble aggregates) cast in molds then colored and hand-polished. Learn more about this couple and their art at PaperAndStone.com.
Juan Quevedo, originally from Peru, whose art hangs in private collections all over the world, was also showing his beautiful paintings. We became instant fans of his colorful and expressive watercolor works of art. Nationally recognized, Juan’s art also hangs in the Oakland Art Museum, Boston Art Museum and Ohio Art Museum. And to think… you can add his works of art to your collection here at this event.
The live music was great, and a crowd favorite…
… and the crowds were plenty. This event had a great turnout, which is great. There was a lot of excitement and plenty of great art and artists on hand.
Also at the Festival, was the Vegas Artists Guild. As artists helping artists, we feel it fair to give them a plug. They had a display representing local artists. The Vegas Artists Guild is an organization of artists whose primary purpose is to bring talented, established and emerging artists in the Vegas area to the public attention.
Our newest addition to the MySpace Featured Artists is an up-and-comer airbrush artist Brad Keener. Getting his start in Monroe, Georgia, Brad has been airbrushing for a couple of years now, and is a self-tought artist, specializing in wall murals, cars, bikes and helmets… and guitars (like the one above) — just about anything but t-shirts. Brad says “I have been using Iwata airbrushes exclusively for a little over a year now and they make a great deal of differance in the detail I can acheave in my work”. We agree. Below are some examples of Brad’s work. Enjoy.
