Whether it’s airbrush art or otherwise when it comes to show-time, ALSA really knows how to adorn their booth.

Hangin’ out with our friends at ALSA, A.D. Cook is graced by their California beauty.

Gwen Stefani Guitar by Mike Lavallee

Wednesday, November 28th, 2007

On display at the Iwata-Medea booth at SEMA this year was an amazing piece of art. This guitar - a tribute to Gwen Stafani of “No Doubt” attracted some attention. Mike Lavallee’s assistant Nick Laye was the designer on this masterpiece and of course Mike Lavalle did the painting.

Nice Job Nick and Mike! See more of Mike Lavallee’s work at Killer Paint.

SEMA 2007 - The Italian Contingent

Tuesday, November 27th, 2007

You may remember back in October, we brought you pictures from Italy that Dennis Mathewson shared with us while he was traveling there. We made some new friends that we never met yet - until SEMA 2007. It was a true pleasure and a delight to meet this fun-loving, talented group of guys in person while they were here in Vegas.

When they returned to Italy from their Vegas romp, Paolo (above with A.D.) sent some of his pictures to share with us and you. Enjoy!

Guilanno, Paolo and A.D. Cook at the Iwata Booth at SEMA 2007.

Back row: Fulvio, Stef (from Belgium) Tom Kelly, Bob Spina, Fonzy. Front row is Dennis, Paolo and Guilanno.

Fonzy, Terry Hill and Dennis Matthewson.

AD. Cook with Georgio from Brimingham England.

The whole gang partying at the Airbrush Confidential Party - more on that later.

Gulianno, A.D. and Carlos Avelar (Carlos is from U.S.)

This is a good time to mention AirbrushFree.com. AirbrushFree.com is a fairly new website project a member of the Italian contingent - Guilanno - has been creating on behalf of the world’s airbrush community. If you’re an airbrush artist and would like to get some free exposure, this is a great place to start. We’ll be covering Guilanno’s AirbrushFree.com site in upcoming posts, but in the meantime - head on over there and check them out.

Track back to Dennis Mathewson’s post from Italy.

We recently watched this video and thought it had a lot of worthwhile information on using the Artool Templates and getting results fast. Bob keeps the good information coming and thoroughly explains many different ways to use Artool templates. The time-lapse section of Bob creating the entire artwork is especially cool.

MySpace Featured Artist - Clark Tattoo

Saturday, November 24th, 2007

Clark Tattoo

Our MySpace Featured Artist contemporaries are more than airbrush stars. It’s about artists we respect, and their work, regardless of their medium or genre. Many airbrush, some sculpt, and others create the ultimate body art - tattoos. Yeah, we’re talking the real deal here - not the kind of body art that you shower off before heading to bed. The kind that lasts forever. And if you want it done right you go to an expert at their craft. That’s why we’re proud to share Clark North of Clark Tattoo as our latest MySpace Featured Artist. Check out the work below.

Clark is a man who loves his work. His chair is constantly full, and his needle always busy, but if you’re serious about what you want and you appreciate a true work of art, he’ll fit you in and get it done right. That’s why Clark will tell you… “You get the tattoo you deserve”.

Clark is a traditional painter too, favoring acrylics and either painting or drawing most every day. And it shows. Below are a few examples of his art…

Shown above: Clark (beside driver’s door) and the crew of A&E show INKED and Hart & Huntington Tattoo.

Above: A.D. Cook and Clark outside Hart & Huntington Tattoo at the Palms, Las Vegas, Nevada.

Clark Tattoo. Cool stuff. “Yeah, I like that story”.

Miss Lead - SEMA 2007

Charles Armstrong - Miss Lead

There were plenty of beautiful cars on display parked just outside at the SEMA event. This one caught our eye and looked familiar because it was painted by Charles Armstrong aka “The Kid”. We actually broke the story on this deck lid back in our March post about the Airbrush Action Getaway where he was teaching his expertise. Here it is all put together with the rest of the ride…

Airbrush Girls Gone Wild - The Post

Monday, November 19th, 2007

Okay AirbrushTour fans. This is the post you’ve been waiting all year for - (or at least all day). This is a long, fun one so strap in your seatbelts.

The 2007 Airbrush Confidential Party at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, NV featured two lovely models being painted by two lovely airbrush artists. Life is good.

We thought too many pictures of this event was just about enough. Enjoy…

The conspirators from left to right are: Deb Mahan, Elishiba, Timea, Pamela Shanteau and Gabe McCubbin of Artool Products. And behind the camera, working to get these great shots is A.D. Cook who also coordinated the models.

Say, nice Artool!

Passerby Steve Driscoll. Who let that guy in anyway?

The Airbrush Confidential Party was sponsored by Airbrush Action, Artool Products, Anest Iwata, Coast Airbrush, House of Kolor and Iwata Medea . Stay tuned for more on the party. Elishiba and Timea were passing out cigars in style. You’ll want to catch that.

For those of you who are interested in doing some body art projects yourself, or you’d just like to get the best tan of your life - you may want to learn about these cool bikinis that our model Timea was wearing.

These are really ingenious, strapless beauties that stay on amazingly well - even during the rigors of body painting - no wardrobe malfunctions here. Check them out…

Bob Spina on AirbrushTour.com

Friday, November 16th, 2007

Bob Spina’s finished Harley-Davidson Street Glide making it’s grand appearance at SEMA 2007.

And you may remember that Dennis Matthewson painted the Tiki on the front faring back in September… Go back and check out that post here.

This thing is really over the top - photos don’t do it solid. There’s more ALSA flake, color, striping and effects than you can shake a stick at on this project and it’s really something special, trust me.

Credits go out to…

Don Andress Las Vegas Harley Davidson, Bob Spina (702) 239-2823, Tom Kelly (562) 867-0511, Dennis Mathewson, Spade Brothers, Kelly Mack, and Develbiss.

Just push play, baby.
