Airbrush Action Getaway — Las Vegas, Nevada 2/26/08

February 25th, 2008 - The South Point Hotel Casino & Spa in Las Vegas is once again the place to be for the most recent airbrush getaway, hosted by Airbrush Action magazine, Iwata-Medea airbrush products and House of Kolor. As we’ve mentioned on AirbrushTour before, these events provide a great opportunity to learn from top professionals and connect with artists of similar interests and passion. This year’s event is no exception. In fact, this event just gets better and better. This is the second time for this event at South Point, making this event more organized than ever.

Lorenzo Sperlonga and Steve Driscoll take a minute from teaching their popular pin-up workshop for a quick pic. This year’s subject, a beautiful shot provided by Lorenzo, is more racy than ever.

A.D. Cook and Terry Hill.

Daryl with A.D.

Getaway students learn from great instructors and get plenty of hands-on time to airbrush.

Brooke Cedros and Gary Glass from Iwata-Medea.

Gary Jenson sketches out a flame design on a guitar.

Mr. Okuda, Cliff Stieglitz, Mr. Satoru Iwata and Mr. Komatsu - Anest Iwata, Japan.

House of Kolor sponsors this event, so students learn with quality products.

The House of Color crew mixes it up. They stay busy making sure students have plenty of paint.

John Hannukaine, pinstripe master from the great Northwest, lays down some stripes on a rig parked at the Getaway.

Kent Lind and Jennifer Jorstad (soon to be Jennifer Lind) of Oasis Studios were there again teaching their airbrush t-shirt expertise.

A Mahan mannequin that’s always fun to shoot.

Beautiful examples of airbrush art everywhere…

…including this cool panel painted by Charles Armstrong.

Corey Saint Clair was on hand to help out with the classes.

Jonathan Pantaleon, Mike Terwilliger, Javier Soto and A.D. Cook.

Gold leafing is among one of many techniques demonstrated here.

Javier Soto does a demo for his class.

Alumni, Tom Puentes has been attending the Getaways since 2001. This time he’s taken Terry Hill’s class and paints an eagle on metal. Nice job Tom.

A beautifully painted surf board on display - another Charles Armstrong original.

A.D. Cook, Brook Cedros and Bren.

Dru Blair was teaching his Color Buffer Theory technique to his students down the hall.

Ryno was absent this Getaway - filming a new season of Trick My Truck for CMT.

The Airbrush Action Getaway runs February 26-29. Track back to our previous Getaway post from last October.
