Kustom Airbrushes - Up Close

They’re new. They’re kewl, and they’re Kustom - Iwata Kustom that is. By now, most of you have heard about the new Iwata Kustom Series airbrushes, and a few of you may even have one already! For those of you who haven’t - here’s the news…

This new airbrush series is really designed with the automotive and Kustom painter, sporting large color cups and featuring Teflon packings, larger cups, pre-set handles and taller triggers. The Kustom series shine in atomizing solvent-based paints. If your art leans towards an automotive venue, these airbrushes are for you.

So, as some of you guys know, I do some graphic design for Iwata-Medea, along with some airbrushing on occasion, so when this project came up I thought… “looks like fun.” A couple days later a box with five shiny new airbrushes showed up - The Kustom TH, TR, CM, CH and CS. I had them dismantled, spread out everywhere with drawings started faster than you could sing the airbrush national anthem. After all, these are hot! So, with the Kustom Series Manual & Parts Guide all wrapped up, we re-assembled airbrushes and put together a PDF for you guys. Got questions on the Kustoms? This doc should cover it, with more information on Iwata-Medea’s web site. Remember, you saw it here first.

The gang at Iwata-Medea tell us the Kustom series airbrushes will ship in about a week, and they’ll be available at your preferred airbrush dealer soon after.

So here it is - hot off to press - or more so really, since it’s brought to you before it goes to press; the official Iwata Kustom Series Manual & Parts Guide, which is really much more than a parts guide. This download features specific information on getting started with the airbrush, and all-round general information about spraying and paint preparation, along with some maintenance insight and troubleshooting fix-its.
