Lake Elsinore Rod & Kulture Show 2006

Kulture was abound in Lake Elsinore, California, as the city played host to a kewl rod run Saturday, June 24th. Although the show’s official hours were 2-7pm, we strolled through early to get a few shots of cars and art before the viewing crowd set in. We’re glad to haven gotten in early, since the day promised to get hot (over 100 degrees anyway) by mid-day. Summer days in the Inland Empire are hot - real hot some days. Anyway, speaking of hot, several rods on display at this Kulture Show were outright smokin’. Thanks to the Axle Draggers Street Rods & Customs and other car clubs and owners for bringing out their rides to share.
This is a long post, so we’ll start with painters and then cars - click the “more” button to see the cars (lots of car shots). Two local airbrush guys were at this year’s show; Paintworx and Lil Newt. Each has a unique style and offered a lot to the show.

Specializing in the cool stuff you need painted, Paintworx dropped in from Quail Valley to display his craft…

… motorcycle tanks,

… home decor items,

… and fine art - kulture style.

Newt, a Lake Elsinore airbrush artist and living legend was on hand to show his Kustom Kulture Art.

He put out an impressive display complete with kewl car, motorcycle, dragster and art.

Newt can turn anything into kewl art - especially car stuff…

… and definitely, cars. His orange flamed Caddy is a kewl cruiser.

Nice job with the flames.

Newt’s dragster, which I understand, he drives himself.

It definitely looks fast.

And a quick view of the front this long railed dragster. I’m guessing that more have seen it from the back than front. Nice ride Newt.

This show featured a few kewl trucks. I liked the flamed green F100 a lot.

Speaking of flames - these are hot. This Ford rod was shown on AirbrushTour before and we’ll keep showing it. This car is a real beauty and always deserving of a second look.(click to see the Temecula Rod Run post )

A screamin’ yellow 1937 Ford begs for attention - and gets plenty.

Ghosted flames announce the cars arrival…

… and hand-painted pinstripes bring up the rear.

Speaking of trick Fords, check out this 1939 Cabriolet.

This car has amazing fit and finish. It a real beauty - inside and out, and its proud owner says he takes it for drive every chance he gets, and who can blame him. This thing is hot.

Serious attention to detail, complete with graphics lies under the hood.

Airbrush graphics are tastefully applied throughout this smooth sled; front-to-back.

You know the bumper sticker that says “my other car is a…?” Well, the proud owner of the ‘39 Cabriolet is the owner of this ‘40 Ford Delivery. Nice collection, and definitely worth see up close if you get the chance.

This is a beautiful example of some beautifully rendered airbrush graphics on the back of that ‘40.

Details and lots of bling make all difference.

A ’50’s Ford F-100…

… sports a traditional set of nostalgic flames on the front.

A black Mercury Eight features some great pinstripes, courtesy of Pinstripes by Sketch.

This Model A Street Rod has some nice stripes too.

And one last flamed Ford rod, for an impressive collection.
For GM fans…

Pass out the sunglasses - this Cadillac is hot!

It’s straight-forward and beautifully executed custom paint is a perfect fit for this old-skewl kustom.
and…

A personal favorite - the 1961 Corvette.
