Roaring Engines, Burn Outs and Slow Drags

Friday afternoon made for a great day of hangin’ with the car guys at the Super Run Car Show. The Water Street District in Henderson, Nevada’s downtown streets play host to hundreds of cars, trucks and motorcycles this September 20th to 23rd. We were there, and the word on the street is that there are over 1,000 hot rides on display. We’d have to agree. Either way - hundreds or thousands - this outdoor rod show is impressive. This automotive event is open to all years, makes & models of classic vehicles: cars, trucks, motorcycles and special interest vehicles including vintage, classics, street, hot rods, muscle cars, street rods, competition vehicles and customs. Super Run 2007 will be held in downtown Henderson with cruise lanes on Water Street, just down the road from Las Vegas.
So, with that were bringing you some pics - lots of pics - of this cool hot rod event. Normally, we’d split this post up and bring it to you in two or even three posts, but this event is live - it’s happening now! We want to encourage you to check it out, so we’re loading this post up with tons of pics - perhaps the most ever in a single AirbrushTour post… our gift to you. Enjoy.

Flamed pickups always rule, especially when they are as clean as this one.

Old-skewl pinstripes dress this entire car.

We’re huge fans of the ‘60 Chevy Impala.

Sweet. Reminds us of why we like classic cars. Well done.

No real rod show is complete without a red Ford coupe or two.

This 2000 Corvette, designed, engineered and built by Ron G. Rockwell boasts a current investment of $225k. It’s currently the class winner of the Super Chevy Show 2001-2003 and 2005-2007 for a modified street legal Corvette.

Flame babe painted by Rich Inman.

Works for us.

And under the hood…

Supercharged 625 HP with a nitrous kicker! Wow - that’ll get you where you’re going fast.

Inside - a cool helmet with a ton of attitude lies in waiting.

The wheelie bar ought to hold her down a bit when the thottle is pushed.

This is one clean Nova. Where’d we put that check book?

A 1937 Terraplane Pickup built and owned by Dan & Mary Dowdy. This is an all steel beast. Only 16 are known to exist. This one features paint and flames by Dan Dowdy.

And under the hood is pure power. What a beautiful beast this one is.

This rad pickup features skulls and flames - and a lot of both.

One sweet sled… this one in blue.

Hey, even car shows feature cool bikes on occasion. This Harley-Davidson Road King Classic showcases an Oakland Raiders motif.

The Raiders logo is well executed on its tank.

This ride features flames within flames - very cool.

Blown Willies coupes are always cool…

…and this one with a trick hand-painted blower belt is no exception.

This is an excellent example of a 1911 Cadillac - 1 of 3 known to exist today.

And an early 60’s Cadillac - pink of course (our favorite color).

This one properly equipped - er, we mean accessorised.

A tricked-out Chevy SSR.

Check out the cool flames and pinstripe by Bob Spina aka ‘Vegas’. That guy is everywhere

Lots of orange rods at this year’s show, but this one stood out as one of the cleanest.

Afeared of clowns? Better stay away from this one. Cheech would be proud. Oh ya, that ice cream was gooood!

Check out this kewl rat rod built by Henderson local and truck owner Ron.

This race-ready Camero is all fired up.

The true-fire flames are well done - crispy in fact.

Helter Skelter - indeed.

Mighty Mouse… looking mighty pissed - hand painted though, and we like that.

Dirty Jo is one tricked sedan.

Nice colors complete this beast in waiting.

Sweeeeeeet. Got to love those beautiful pinstripes.

Pretty girls selling T-shirts are always welcome on AirbrushTour.
